BioC (Bio-Companion) software started as an exploratory tool with the objective to assist scientists to test hypothesis, mine data and process information into knowledge.

Now BioC is an extensive data analysis package providing versatile solutions for query, information retrieval, exploration, visualization and analysis regardless of the dataset type and origin. BioC allows users with no programming experience to explore, parse, analyze and manipulate complex datasets to make discoveries or to perform routine operations.

It outperforms any other software product on the market by guiding the researcher with cutting edge technical solutions from raw data to publication quality visualizations without a need to write a single line of code.

Being professionally developed and maintained, BioC takes the technical details out of the discovery pipeline equation.

BioC's built-in knowledge of a variety of industry standard record formats is accompanied by flexible format recognition and annotation engine to provide outstanding ability of extracting relevant information from known and standard sources and also proprietary formats.

BioC is built to handle cross-functional queries of complex, large datasets such as those present at National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) or generated in-house using Affymetrix gene chips, etc...

  • Command-line version of BioC is a cross-platform utility supported under Win32 /Linux /Unix-clones

  • GUI (Graphical User Interface) version of BioC is supported under Win32 platform. It implements intuitively clear windows-based graphical interface with multiple visualization components. GUI provides dynamic viewing experience compatible with WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) editing/customization ideology to allow creation of publication quality graphs

  • BioC requires Pentium III or higher with 10MB diskspace and 128MB memory
